This is why you need to take certain steps to make sure that you properly clean the shower door – and today, I am going to show you exactly how I do it so you can follow my steps.
Cleaning Your Shower Door Is Easy: Let Me Show You How To Do It!
Let’s start off by gathering everything that we are going to need for the cleaning. In case you need to remove soap scum, you are going to need a bucket, a sponge, white vinegar, and an old toothbrush. In case there is mold or mildew, make sure you also get a spray bottle. And if you notice hard water stains – you need a lemon!
I have a tip for the cleaning – first, make sure you run the shower with hot water for a few minutes so the shower doors can get nice and steamy. This will loosen up build-up and impurities which will otherwise be hard to remove.
Next, fill a bucket with hot water and add half a cup of vinegar. Dip a sponge in there and start scrubbing the shower door. I also like to switch to an old toothbrush to reach the cracks of the frame. Once you are happy with the results and you managed to remove the build-up and soap scum, rinse.
If there is mold, mildew, or even limescale, the cleaning continues. Grab the spray bottle I told you to prepare, mix equal parts of water and white vinegar and pour the mixture in there. Spray the affected areas with our DIY cleaner and wait for a few minutes before you scrub with a sponge and rinse.
And last but not least, let me show you how to deal with hard water stains… and you are going to need lemon and baking soda. Apply baking soda over the affected areas then let it sit for a few minutes. While you wait, cut one lemon in half. Then grab half of the lemon and start scrubbing over the baking soda. Make sure you squeeze the lemon a bit while you scrub as well.
And then just rinse… and your shower door is spotless!
